U.S. Oh! Show

So I saw a burlesque show last night with a few friends. I guess it was appropriate that I found two pennies that night too.

Desk Set

Friday was quite the day. Not really in terms of change. I first saw Tom Brosseau at Mercury Lounge and afterwards headed over to Enid's in Brooklyn where there was this crazy librarian event. It was put on by this group called The Desk Set. A whole lotta librarians dancing the night away to a mix of soul, funk and other eclectic hits from yesteryear. Anyway, last night I picked up 17 cents.

The Revolution Has Begun

There's a revolution afoot. It started at 2:53pm this afternoon. After months of neglect, action has been taken to direct a new course of initiatives. The old guard has been warned. Their ignorance and indifference to new lines of thinking has been noted. Today, we reclaim what is rightfully ours. And we shall persist. Our timetable is not measured in days or weeks but in the final result. No one can place a hold on time. And so it has begun. Today.

A Couple of Beers!

So I ended up finding two more pennies over the weekend. Outstanding, D!

That brought the total to $9.80.

Monday I found a penny: $9.81.

During my journey tonight, I broke TEN DOLLARS! I found a quarter between 6th and 7th avenue on 23rd street. It was from 2006 and the state is Colorado.

Also picked up four more pennies. 3 at Jay Street Borough Hall in Brooklyn.

I now have enough for a couple of beers. With tip. I think I know what next year's "cause" will be. ;)

Pennies

Well, guess what I found? Pennies. Wow. Surprising, huh? I mean, pennies are just about everywhere you look. Over the past couple of days I've found 10 pennies. After a concert I saw last night I found 8 cents. Earlier in the week I'd find a single penny on the sidewalk. This morning, two pennies near my apartment. Despite all the change I'm collecting, I'm barely keeping up with inflation! ;)

A little harsh

So my friend who was at the Yacht/LCD Soundsystem concert sent me a link about a song that this Yacht character did. And I gotta cut the guy a little slack....he wrote a song called "See a Penny (Pick It Up)". Can't diss the guy completely.....we're like kindred spirits now. :P

Team Yacht

Last night I saw LCD Soundsystem at Webster Hall with a friend. On the way there, my friend helped spot out a dime and a penny for me. I also found a few other pennies. Then after we checked our coats she alertly saw someone drop some change and didn't bother picking it up. I collected a quarter and a penny.

Well, the opening band was just....lame. LAME. He reminded us of what one of our friend's ex would listen to and be all ueber-cool. In reality it was a sad opening band. Kinda felt like I was at a talent show for middle schoolers. Here's the band.

After the concert my friend threw down a quarter on the sidewalk. I don't know if she's "slow" since she's been told plenty of times the "rules of the blog". Maybe deep down she wants to be a banker.
