End of April Fury

I found 4 cents yesterday. All pennies.

Today was a much different story. It started off by finding a penny near Connecticut Muffin. On my way to meet a friend for a run, I picked up a quarter underneath a subway seat. Then at the beginning of the run, I got a dime.

April was looking to be a sparse month until today. Almost near seven dollars now.

CASH-ank

Wow. Thursday was a very fine day for collectin' change. I found 21 cents that day. One dime, one nickel and six pennies. Just so happened that day I went to Buttermilk for their CasHank hootenany jamboree. Coincidence? Hmm.

Today I found a penny. Pennies get such a bad rap. Disregarded, abandoned, neglected. Sigh.

Drinkin' Money

I met up with a friend yesterday after work at Commonwealth in Brooklyn to enjoy the nice weather outside. While I was reading and waiting for my friend to show up, I spotted a quarter and a penny on the patio. Thank you, careless drinker.

Let the Sunshine In

Well, spring arrived in full force the past few days. Almost felt like summer at times.

I haven't been finding a lot of change recently. Hmm. Which is odd. I'd think I'd find more now that the weather is better and more people would be outside. More people outside, more chances of careless movements and more instances of dropped change.

Alas, that has not been the case.

Over the past week, I've found, count 'em, 5 pennies. And I found another Canadian one which doesn't even equal a US penny. Sheesh.

Deep Six

I've made it past six dollars. Yesterday I found a penny in the morning when I braved the nor'easter. It was from 1998.

Today I passed six. On the steps down to the Whitehall Street station someone graciously left two pennies: 2000 and 1996.

Weekly Compilation

This week I've gone out and done a bunch of stuff that I haven't had enough time to put up my little posts about what I've collected this week. I saw this movie at a special screening. It opens later this month. So, next week, go out and see the movie "Hot Fuzz"! If you liked "Shaun of the Dead", you'll enjoy this movie.

This week I found 1 dime and two pennies on Tuesday. Then on Thursday I found 3 pennies.

That night I went out and saw the Kaiser Chiefs in concert.

On Friday I found a penny and today I found a penny.

White Out

I happened to be in Ohio last weekend and experienced a pretty heavy snowfall. By the time I left, 2 feet had accumulated. Needless to say, I didn't see much change.

When I got back to NYC, I found a penny on Monday and one yesterday.

4 + 4

So far this week I had found four pennies:
1975
1977
2003
2004

Then today I found 4 pennies in my laundry room:
1984
1994
2001
2003

I'm drowning in pennies.

....another.....penny.....

I picked up one more cent yesterday. This one was near the Lorelei bar.

In other news, fashion meets old currency (Coin pieces are now much in demand, thanks to a new crop of designers.)
